The Tweco® Coarse Threaded Copper Nozzle with a 1/2" bore size is specifically designed for standard gas diffusion. It is expertly machined from a solid copper alloy bar, ensuring consistent dimensional stability and effective heat dissipation. With its 1.75" size and 1.07" outer diameter, this nozzle is perfect for medium to heavy-duty welding tasks up to 450 A. For easy identification, the part number is conveniently rolled stamped on the outer surface. Made of 145 tellurium copper alloy, this nozzle comes in a 2-piece design. It is best suited for higher heat applications that require longer electrical stick-out or cases in which the nozzle comes into contact with the work piece. Each pack contains two nozzles. Please note that the nozzle housing and nozzle insulator are sold separately. The nozzle insulator is used to thread onto the conductor tube, providing insulation to the nozzle. The two-piece nozzle design allows the nozzle housing to thread onto the nozzle insulator. Recessed tips are typically used in higher heat applications where longer electrical stick-out is necessary or when the nozzle may come into contact with the work piece (tack, spot, and stitch). On the other hand, flush tips are used when a shorter electrical stick-out is required, resulting in shorter/tighter arc lengths and bringing the tip closer to the work piece. Protruding tips are generally used for welding open root pipe or any joint that requires the welder to reach a tight weld joint. However, using protruding tips carries the risk of arcing the tip to the work piece, potentially damaging front-end parts and requiring downtime for replacement.
