The Tweco® Heavy-duty Nozzle is designed to fit standard gas diffusers and is essential for achieving high-quality welds and ensuring the longevity of the welding gun. With a 1/2" bore size, this 3.29" Nozzle is perfect for heavy-duty welding applications up to 450 A. Its 1.117" OD and part number rolled stamped on the outer surface make it easily identifiable. Crafted from 122 DHP copper alloy, this Nozzle has a recess contact tip relationship of 0.125 - 0.156", ideal for situations that require longer electrical stick-out or when the nozzle comes into contact with the workpiece.
The Nozzle features a 3-piece design, including a nozzle housing made from copper alloy tubing, a nozzle insert machined from solid brass, and a nozzle insulator constructed from silicone material. Allowable to slide over a metal spring of the gas diffuser, the nozzle insert provides the necessary electrical insulation with the help of the nozzle insulator. Sold in packs of 2, this Nozzle offers easy identification with its part number rolled stamped on the outside surface. Additionally, its 3-piece design eliminates the need for an additional insulator.
Choose between different tip styles to cater to specific welding requirements:
- Recessed Tips are suitable for higher heat applications that necessitate longer electrical stick-out or when the nozzle may touch the workpiece (tack, spot, and stitch).
- Flush Tips are preferred when a shorter electrical stick-out is used, resulting in shorter/tighter arc lengths, which brings the tip closer to the workpiece.
- Protruding Tips are recommended for welding open root pipes or any joint that requires the welder to reach a tight weld joint. However, there is a slight risk of arcing the tip to the workpiece, potentially damaging front end parts and causing downtime for replacement.
