The Tweco® Self Insulated Slip-On Copper Nozzle is designed for use in welding applications up to 450 A. With a bore size of 0.625" and a 3.25" length, this nozzle is ideal for medium and heavy duty tasks. The part number is easily identifiable as it is rolled stamped on the external surface.
Made from a copper alloy, this nozzle features a 3-piece design that eliminates the need for an additional insulator. It consists of a nozzle housing, which is cut and formed from 122 DHP copper alloys tubing, a brass nozzle insert, and a silicone nozzle insulator. The nozzle insert is crimped in place to allow the nozzle to slide over a metal spring that is part of the gas diffuser. This design provides the necessary electrical insulation from the gas diffuser.
The nozzle is sold in packs of two and offers easy identification with the part number rolled stamped on the outside surface. The three-piece design eliminates the need for an additional insulator. Different tip options are available to suit specific welding needs. Recessed tips are best for higher heat applications requiring longer electrical stick-out or when there is a risk of the nozzle touching the workpiece. Flush tips are suitable for shorter electrical stick-out, resulting in shorter arc lengths and bringing the tip closer to the workpiece. Protruding tips are used for welding in tight joints, such as open root pipe welding, but there is a slight risk of arcing the tip to the workpiece, which could lead to downtime for part replacement.
