The Tweco® 15 Series Heavy Duty Contact Tip is specifically designed for heavy duty welding applications up to 500 A. It is compatible with 5/64" wire and can be used with 200-500 A Tweco® No.5 MIG guns, as well as other MIG gun series.
This contact tip is made from high-quality extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy. It is machined from a copper alloy tubing to ensure a consistent and smooth surface inside diameter with a tolerance of +/-0.003". The contact tip features a threaded style, which guarantees proper contact with a gas diffuser when installed on the MIG gun. It is available in slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles, with various diameter bore sizes to choose from.
Twisting the contact tip securely locks it in place, ensuring better electrical conductivity and increased surface contact with the gas diffuser. The tip's thick-walled design acts as a heat sink, effectively conducting heat away from the arc source. This helps to protect the quality of your welds and prolongs the life of the tip.
Each contact tip is marked with its part number and wire diameter for easy identification. To enhance convenience, there are no threads to worry about. When the tip wear point is reached, simply twist it a quarter turn clockwise to expose a new wear point, effectively doubling the tip's lifespan.
