The Tweco® 15 Series Heavy Duty Contact Tip is specially designed to accommodate 0.052" wire and is a perfect match for the 200-500 A Tweco® No.5 MIG guns and certain MIG gun series. This contact tip boasts excellent electrical properties, making it an excellent choice for heavy duty welding applications up to 500 A.
With its part number and wire diameter clearly marked, this 1.97" contact tip with a 5/16"-18 UNC-2A thread size features a 0.064" nominal ID and a 0.345" OD. Crafted from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy, and precisely machined from a copper alloy tubing, this contact tip ensures a consistently smooth inside diameter with a tolerance of +/-0.003".
With its threaded style, this contact tip guarantees proper contact with a gas diffuser when installed on the MIG gun. It is available in both slip-on and thread-on nozzle styles, offering a range of diameter bore sizes. Twist the contact tip to lock it securely in place, creating better electrical conductivity and increased surface contact.
Not only does this contact tip boast excellent electrical properties, but its thick-walled design also acts as a heat sink, effectively conducting heat away from the arc source. When a wear point is reached, simply twist the contact tip a quarter turn clockwise to reveal a fresh wear point, effectively doubling the tip's lifespan.
