The Tweco® 15 Series Heavy Duty Contact Tip is designed to accommodate 0.045" wire and is compatible with 200 - 500 A Tweco® No.5 MIG guns as well as specific MIG gun series. This contact tip is specifically designed for heavy duty welding applications up to 500 A. It is easily identifiable with its part number and wire diameter.
The contact tip measures 1.97" in length, with a 5/16"-18 UNC- 2A thread size. It has a 0.054" nominal ID and 0.345" OD. Made from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy, the contact tip offers a consistent and smooth inside diameter surface with a tight tolerance of +/-0.003".
Featuring a threaded style, the contact tip ensures proper contact with a gas diffuser when installed to the MIG gun. It is available in slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles with various diameter bore sizes. The contact tip securely locks in place when twisted, resulting in enhanced electrical conductivity and increased surface contact.
The thick-walled design of the contact tip acts as a heat sink, effectively conducting heat away from the arc source. Additionally, it can be twisted a quarter turn clockwise to expose a new wear point, effectively doubling the lifespan of the tip. Sold in packs of 25, each contact tip is marked with the part number and wire diameter for easy identification.
