The Tweco® 15 Series Heavy Duty Contact Tip is specially designed for heavy duty welding applications. It can accommodate 1/8" wire and is compatible with 200 - 500 A Tweco® No.5 MIG guns and certain MIG gun series.
This contact tip is made from high-quality extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy. It is machined from a copper alloy tubing to ensure a consistent and smooth inside diameter surface with a tolerance of +/-0.003".
With a 1.97" length and 5/16"-18 UNC- 2A thread, this contact tip guarantees proper contact with a gas diffuser when installed on the MIG gun. It is available in slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles, offering different diameter bore sizes to choose from.
Not only does this contact tip lock in place when twisted, but it also provides better electrical conductivity with increased surface contact. Additionally, its thick-walled design acts as a heat sink, effectively conducting heat away from the arc source.
To extend the life of the tip, simply twist it a quarter turn clockwise when the wear point is reached to expose a fresh wear point. This doubling of the tip's lifespan makes it an economical choice.
