The Tweco® Heavy Duty Contact Tip is designed to accommodate 3/64" wire and is compatible with 200 - 400 A Tweco® No.2, No.3, and No.4 MIG guns for aluminum wire and specific MIG gun series. This contact tip is specifically crafted for heavy duty welding applications up to 400 A, offering excellent electrical properties. It is easily identifiable with its part number and wire diameter. With a 1.47" contact tip size and a 1/4"-28 UNF-2A thread size, it has a nominal ID of 0.059" and an OD of 0.283".
Made from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy and machined from copper alloy tubing, this contact tip provides a consistent and smooth inside diameter surface with a tolerance of +/-0.003". Its threaded style ensures proper contact with a gas diffuser when installed to the MIG gun. It is available in slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles with different bore sizes. The contact tip securely locks in place when twisted, enhancing electrical conductivity by increasing surface contact.
Not only does this contact tip have a thick-walled design that acts as a heat sink, effectively conducting heat away from the arc source, but it also features a smart wear point system. When the tip wear point is reached, it can be twisted quarter turn clockwise to reveal a new wear point, effectively doubling the life of the tip. Each pack includes 25 contact tips for convenience.
