The Tweco® 15 Series Heavy Duty Fluxcored Contact Tip is designed to accommodate 0.052" wire and is a perfect fit for Tweco® No.5 MIG guns as well as specific MIG gun series. This contact tip is specifically designed for heavy duty welding applications up to 500 A. It features a part number and wire diameter for easy identification.
The contact tip has a 1.59" size with a 5/16"-18 UNC-2A thread size. It has a nominal ID of 0.064" and an OD of 0.345". Made from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy, it is machined from a copper alloy tubing to ensure a consistent and smooth surface inside diameter with a tolerance of +/-0.003".
With a threaded style, the contact tip ensures proper contact with a gas diffuser when installed to the MIG gun. It is available in slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles with a choice of diameter bore sizes. The contact tip locks in place when twisted, providing increased surface contact and better electrical conductivity.
The contact tip also features a thick-walled design that acts as a heat sink, conducting heat away from the arc source. When the tip wear point is reached, it can be twisted a quarter turn clockwise to reveal a new wear point, effectively doubling the life of the tip.
