The Tweco® 15 Series Heavy Duty Fluxcored Contact Tip is designed to accommodate 0.045" wire and is compatible with 200 - 500 A Tweco® No.5 MIG guns and certain MIG gun series. It is suitable for heavy duty welding applications up to 500 A. The contact tip has excellent electrical properties and features a part number and wire diameter for easy identification. It has a 1.59" length and a 5/16"-18 UNC- 2A thread. The contact tip is made from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy and machined from a copper alloy tubing to ensure a consistent and smooth inside diameter surface with a tolerance of +/-0.003". The threaded style of the contact tip ensures proper contact with a gas diffuser when installed to the MIG gun. It is available in slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles with a choice of diameter bore sizes. When twisted, the contact tip locks in place and provides better electrical conductivity with increased surface contact. Its thick-walled design acts as a heat sink, conducting heat away from the arc source. To extend the life of the tip, it can be twisted a quarter turn clockwise to reveal a new wear point once the tip wear point is reached. The contact tip is sold in packs of 25.
