The Tweco® 15 Series Heavy Duty Fluxcored Contact Tip is designed to accommodate 1/16" wire and is a suitable choice for use with 200 - 500 A Tweco® No.5 MIG guns, as well as specific MIG gun series. This contact tip offers excellent electrical properties, making it an ideal option for heavy duty welding applications up to 500 A.
With its part number and wire diameter clearly marked, this 1.59" contact tip features a 5/16"-18 UNC- 2A thread size, a 0.073" nominal ID, and a 0.345" OD. It is crafted from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy and machined from a copper alloy tubing. This ensures a consistent and smooth inside diameter surface with a tolerance of +/-0.003".
The threaded style of this contact tip guarantees proper contact with a gas diffuser when installed to the MIG gun. Additionally, it is available in slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles, offering different bore size options.
By twisting the contact tip, it securely locks in place, providing better electrical conductivity and increasing the surface contact between the contact tip and the diffuser. Moreover, its thick-walled design acts as a heat sink, effectively conducting heat away from the arc source.
To extend the life of the contact tip, simply twist it a quarter turn clockwise when the tip wear point is reached, revealing a new wear point. Sold in packs of 25, this contact tip ensures easy identification with each one marked showing the part number and wire diameter.
