The Tweco® 15 Series Heavy Duty Contact Tip is designed for welding applications up to 500 A. It can accommodate 3/32" wire and is compatible with 200 - 500 A Tweco® No.5 MIG guns and specific MIG gun series. This contact tip is made from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy and machined from a copper alloy tubing, ensuring a consistent and smooth inside diameter surface. It has a threaded style that guarantees proper contact with a gas diffuser when installed to the MIG gun.
With a 1.97" length and a 5/16"-18 UNC-2A thread size, this contact tip has a 0.106" nominal ID and a 0.345" OD. It is marked with a part number and wire diameter for easy identification. The contact tip can be twisted quarter turn clockwise to lock in place, providing increased surface contact and better electrical conductivity.
Additionally, it features a thick-walled design that acts as a heat sink, effectively conducting heat away from the arc source. When the tip wear point is reached, simply twist it half turn counter-clockwise to expose a new wear point, doubling the life of the tip.
