The ARCAIR-Matic® N-7500 Gouging System with Bug-o® travel system is perfect for metal fabrication operations that heavily rely on gouging and welding. It is the most advanced air carbon-arc gouging/grooving system available, and it can be mechanized with 110 VAC. The Bug-o® tractors are ideal for removing metal in difficult positions. The system includes an aluminum track that guides the tractor along the weld seam while keeping the ARCAIR-Matic N7500 torch head on track using a mechanical rack device. This system offers higher yields of high-quality end products, significantly reduces man-hours and process costs, expands areas of applicability, and provides complete control over the gouging operation through the remote pendant. The remote pendant allows the welder/operator to determine gouge parameters, initiate the start/stop function, set travel delay, and manually feed or retract the electrode in the torch head. The amperage and voltage during the gouging sequence can be easily monitored, while keeping the electrode on the weld seam. The N7500 Torch Head eliminates the need for stocking or changing contact shoe assemblies when switching electrode sizes. The Power Supply "contactor" ensures that the gouging current is only active when the welder/operator presses the "start" button on the remote pendant. This system is compatible with various power supplies in the industry. It guarantees conformity to pre-determined groove depth and width specifications. The welder/operator can refer to the "Parameter Guide" option on the remote pendant to view the recommended amperage and travel speed based on the chosen electrode and gouge depth. The unique "travel delay" function ensures excellent groove geometry at the beginning of the gouge, eliminating the need for a starting pad. The system includes safety features such as no current detect and low voltage functions, which shut down the system if necessary to protect the equipment and work and maintain optimum groove quality. The newly redesigned Torch Head with an extended front end provides better visibility for the welder/operator during the gouging operation, ensuring the electrode is correctly positioned to the weld seam.
